Dear colleagues, and dear Friends,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 56th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN) in Valencia, Spain. Valencia is a warm, charming and colorful seaside Mediterranean city that receives you with open arms. From ancient times till now, Valencia has been home for different civilizations, cultures and people; enjoy its historic heritage and unique atmosphere!

We envision this annual meeting as a wonderful professional and human experience, combining science, research, expertise, teaching and learning. With the help of our scientific committee, we have prepared a novel, vibrant and rigorous congress program that will drive us through the most recent advances in the field of Pediatric Nephrology. You will have the opportunity to participate in keynote lectures, symposiums, teaching sessions, controversies, and attend the newest presentations as oral abstracts or posters. Further, this year, the collaboration between the ESPN and EWOPA will provide a holistic approach to the management of pediatric patients with kidney disease. All together, and in combination with the activities of the ESPN working groups, the IPNA-ESPN junior master classes, the pre-congress courses and the Physician Resilience Program, will constitute a unique forum for seniors and young pediatric nephrologists, psychologists, nurses and other allied professionals, meeting together at the nice Valencia Conference Centre, surrounded by large green areas, in a city compromised with the environment.

We thank the Council of the ESPN, and other invited international societies such as the ASPN, JSPN, KSPN, AsPNA, AfPNA, ERA, and the Spanish Society of Pediatric Nephrology for their commitment and participation with this annual meeting. We also welcome the IPNA Council and appreciate its meeting celebration in Valencia. Finally, we are grateful to the OIC group for their assistance with this meeting organization.
