The 56th ESPN annual meeting has received a COMPLIANT assessment by Ethical MedTech Europe.

MedTech Europe, the European trade association representing the medical technology industry, certified OIC as an Ethical MedTech Trusted Partner.

MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice regulates all aspects of the industry’s relationship with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) such as: company organised events, arrangements with consultants, research and financial support to medical education, amongst others. It also introduces an independent enforcement mechanism.

From 1 January 2018, MedTech Europe Member Companies and their representatives no longer permit to provide direct financial support to individual HCPs from the MedTech Europe Geographic area, which includes EU and EEA countries as well as Russia, Turkey and the countries governed by Mecomed to attend Third-Party Organised Events.

Support to medical education offered to Third Party Organised Events must be provided through Educational Grants given to HCOs, such as scientific societies, hospitals or foundations or Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs). The selection of the beneficiaries of these Grants must be the sole responsibility of the HCO/PCO receiving the Educational Grant.

Companies that are interested in granting an Educational Support for the 56th ESPN annual meeting are welcome to contact sponsorESPN@oic.it.
