ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

IMPORTANT DEADLINES for Authors:

Please read the instructions below before submitting your abstract.

All presentations (including Posters) can only be delivered in-person.

There is no possibility for zoom / virtual presentations.

The presenting author must register for the ESPN meeting. Authors who are unable to attend ESPN may ask a colleague to present on their behalf or withdraw their abstract. If you are unable to attend, please notify the Organizing Secretariat OIC and withdraw your abstract at at the earliest.

Please note that, abstracts submitted for this late-call submission, will only be accepted as posters. Posters will be in physical form; selected posters will be presented during Guided Poster Viewing sessions.

ABSTRACT PREPARATION

  • Abstract submission is only possible on-line. Abstracts submitted by other means or submissions that do not comply with the instructions will not be accepted.
  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • Structure your abstract as follows: Aims / Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions. Please download and use the template available on the submission page.
  • Abstract length: 2500 characters (including tables and references).
  • Do not use abbreviations in the title. Minimise the use of abbreviations in the text.
  • Select one TOPIC from the list below that is most relevant to your presentation:
    1. Urinary tract infections and bladder dysfunction
    2. Genetic kidney diseases / CAKUT
    3. Immune-mediated kidney diseases
    4. Tubular diseases
    5. Acute kidney injury
    6. Chronic kidney disease, CKD-MBD
    7. Hypertension and cardiovascular disease
    8. Dialysis
    9. Transplantation
  • Your abstract will be online for review and editing until the final submission deadline.
  • Presenting authors who are under 42 years old are eligible for the Best Abstract Award!
  • All selected abstracts will be published in Pediatric Nephrology and on the ESPN website.

Technical instructions

Poster

Posters should be printed with the following format: A0 Format 84,1 cm (wide) x 118,9 cm (high) – vertically oriented. Please print your poster on eco-friendly paper.

The only material permitted for posters is plain paper. Adhesive materials, laminated prints, vinyl, fabric, PVC, canvas, foam board, plastic, and any other materials or special finishes are not permitted. Any poster printed on non-compliant materials will be removed.

Please note that, for hanging posters on the panels, a special double-sided tape will be provided for you at the on-site collection desk.

We kindly ask for your responsible use of the materials provided and equipment to ensure the panels remain in good condition.

In the event of any damage to the panels, a replacement fee of 300€ will be charged

Oral presentation (free communication / focused communication)

To ensure a smooth presentation, you are requested to prepare a power point presentation by following the

We inform you that a template is available, however it is not mandatory.

Please be informed that presentations are not collected via e-mail. You will have to hand your USB drive to the slide centre at least one hour before your session starts.

We remind you to strictly adhere to your allotted time.

Oral presentation - digital summary

Since there will be four parallel sessions, a brief digital summary of your work, in addition to your oral presentation, will also be displayed on a digital screen in the theater
This will allow delegates who missed your talk because they were attending other sessions, to view a concise version of your results. 

To prepare the digital summary, please download the template here (mandatory), that includes:

Slide 1. Aims and methods
Slide 2. Results – with one or two figures
Slide 3. Conclusions

The file of the digital summary must be uploaded in advance, using the dedicated platform as follows:

  • Link to the upload platformUPLOAD
  • Username and password have been communicated to the presenting author via e-mail
  • File format: PDF file, maximum size 15MB
  • Orientation and resolution: Horizontal (landscape) oriented, aspect ratio 16:9

When uploading your presentation, please re-name the file as follows: last name_title of the presentation

Your digital summary must be uploaded within October 2nd.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Select your preferred TYPE of PRESENTATION from the list below.

  1. Free communication
  2. Focused oral presentation
  3. Poster presentation

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated through a peer-review process by the Scientific Committee, whose decision is final. Based on this review, the Committee will determine the presentation type for each abstract. Top-scoring abstracts will be invited for oral presentation during the scientific sessions, while others will be displayed as posters during the Guided Poster Viewing sessions

  • Encore submissions: abstracts presenting data that have been recently presented at other congresses or published in scientific journals are eligible for submission.
  • Embargo policy: The conference does not enforce an embargo policy on submitted abstracts.
